Tribal kids in a remote forest area hesitated to attend school. They liked learning according to their head master but were embarrassed to walk out of the homes in torn clothing. The plight of these children moved us into taking up the adoption of MPPS Ringireddipalli, Bhadradri Kothagudem, TS. Providing clothes became the first priority, then care, school supplies, clean drinking water and step by step, the school got a complete makeover.
A teacher who couldn’t bear to see her students walk miles to get to school provided bus passes and shoes from her own pocket. She took interest in her students well being, checking on them and visiting parents of students who missed school. This teacher who went the extra mile for her wards inspired PURE to say “yes” to transforming the school into a model school with state of the art science lab, classroom libraries, dining shelter, kitchen, benches and virtual classrooms. A sponsor inspired by a life changing incident became a change agent for a village school that had wild life sharing the space with students.
