A Street To School Program

Every child deserves the right to education. Unfortunately, economic hardships often rob children of this fundamental right, denying them an average childhood and access to learning opportunities. Street children and tribal children are among the most disadvantaged and at-risk groups, facing numerous challenges. Poverty often keeps them away from school while also limiting their access to food, shelter, protection, and healthcare.

Some children live on the streets full-time and have an adult in their life—not necessarily a parent—while others come from migrant worker families who move across the country in search of livelihood. Tribal children, often residing in remote and underserved areas, lack access to basic educational infrastructure and opportunities. A few are school dropouts. Regardless of their backgrounds, the challenge lies in helping these children realize the joy of learning and the importance of attending school regularly. Abhyasa has addressed these challenges by providing transportation and fostering frequent interactions with parents, ensuring better engagement and participation.

Abhyasa seeks to bridge this gap by preparing these children for school and fostering a love for learning. Through tailored instruction methods such as differentiated learning, demonstrations, role-playing, games, art, and audiovisual tools, Abhyasa ensures an engaging and holistic educational experience. The program also meets the nutritional needs of the children by providing breakfast, lunch, and festive meals, creating a nurturing environment for growth and development.
