The Arizona Chapter of PURE was started in the summer of 2020. Since then, we have raised over $2000 for various fundraising efforts. Our chapter consists of 8 high schoolers, ranging from 9th-12th graders.

Our first initiative was through PURE Femme, raising about $300 for menstrual hygiene in Ethiopia. We completed this through various GoFundMe campaigns. During our second initiative, the tie-dye sale for Glendale Elementary School District, we explored more effective fundraising methods. At Scottsdale Ranch Park, we created and sold tie-dye t-shirts to kids and their parents in the playground.

While explaining our cause, they learned more about the issues that drive PURE. We ended up raising around $100 in school-materials for a disadvantaged district in our town. We explored more effective fundraising methods, and landed on one we still find best today: popsicle sales at soccer games. With this method, we were able to raise $250 in the spring 2021 period. For our Fall ‘21 project, we expanded from popsicle sales to also cookies and snacks, and raised around $300. For our Winter ‘21 project, we again had a local goal: to buy and pack meals for the homeless at the Phoenix homeless shelter, Andre House. Using GoFundMe methods as well as event sales, we raised over $300. Then, we bought materials at Costco and packed the meals with an Andre House representative. We then delivered the meals to the Andre House the day after packing.

The Arizona Chapter increases in sales and effectiveness with each project, and we will continue to do so.
