PURE Youth, a leadership program, specifically aims to facilitate discussion and awareness of the impact that education has on society through numerous projects and fundraising. PURE Youth also supports projects from all program areas and causes PURE champions which gives the ambassadors an opportunity to understand the depth and breadth of the issue, solution and impact on the lives they are helping change.

The Malvern chapter of PURE was started in 2018 and has participated and helped raise awareness for the organization's efforts for more than two years. As Pennsylvania’s only chapter, we take pride in carrying out our mission with grace and representing the goodwill of those wishing to help our cause.

We began our efforts with a clothes drive as part of our Abhyasa project. This project consisted of gathering school supplies and clothes for students at our Abhyasa school in Andhra Pradesh, India. We hoped to provide the opportunity of education to those less fortunate than ourselves and we successfully did so. Then came our sponsorship program in Tanuku. PURE saw a group of children in need who were living in impoverished conditions and made the decision to give them a better life. By adopting them, we set out to raise money to provide for whatever needs they may have: education, living space, hygiene products etc. We funded this program by setting up awareness booths at multiple Indian cultural events and our own members personally pitched in by setting up birthday fundraisers. Together we beat our goal of $1250 by raising a grand total of $1954. To raise that amount of money, knowing that it would be put towards a greater cause is the feeling that the Malvern branch wishes to achieve, and we look forward to putting our efforts towards PURE’s causes in the future.

Since we founded the PURE Malvern chapter in 2018, I’ve had the privilege of providing an education to those who couldn’t afford one themselves. In doing so, I found within myself a better person, willing to help those in need. In the last two years, the projects that we have accomplished, from our clothes drive for the Abhyasa Project to our sponsorship program in Tanuku, have shown me that a person can foster real and positive change in the world. Having these opportunities to give back to the community has led me to look forward to PURE’s endeavors in the future.

With the constant pressure of school and daily life, it is easy to overlook the privilege that we hold. It is easy to be ungrateful for what we have and get caught up on the negatives of our lives. Through PURE, I have been exposed to the injustices that many people face, all over the world. Even better, I am able to help aid these needy people through my own efforts. My experiences with PURE, through the various projects we’ve done, has not only left me excited to help more and do what I can, but has also changed my outlook on the world. The world is so much bigger than just the people we are surrounded by, and I’m happy to be helping people that would normally be out of my reach without an organization like PURE. I am also able to see the privilege that I have, and am not only grateful for the life I live, but also more willing to pay it forward and help those in need. I am so thankful to be working with this great organization and my peers to make the world a better place, one step at a time.

Since joining PURE, I have been educated on the issues going on in India, as well as what we can do to improve the conditions. I’ve seen what an organization of people can do to improve India, one community at a time, starting with education in schools. Raising awareness to the issues helped more people see what a difference they could male with each donation. Organizing bake sales, and going to different events could help people see who they were donating to, and for what cause. Overall, I’ve had a very positive and heartwarming experience.

PURE is an amazing organization that I am so grateful to be a part of. As a parent, I truly appreciate the world PURE opens up to the children growing up outside of India. PURE has given an opportunity for children to not only count their blessings, but also be able to share with lesser privileged peers across the world.
