PURE Youth Lawrenceville

New Jersey

The PURE Youth Lawrenceville chapter was established in 2017 and has grown to have over 25 members now. Our volunteer group is very diverse since we have ambassadors ranging from elementary school to seniors in high school. A fun fact you might not know about our chapter is that we were the third chapter to be founded in PURE Youth! Due to our collective success, PURE Youth began to introduce more and more teams that have now boomed to over 30 chapters across the United States and in India.

In one of our previous projects, we taught organic farming to farmers in India in addition to providing farmland for them. The Lawrenceville chapter also helped fundraise money for girls struggling with period poverty in the Caribbean by hosting an event called ‘Chaat for Charity’ where our volunteers helped cook a variety of food and then sold it to families around us. Our most recent project was our Diwali Sweet Sale in which we packaged and, with the help of our hard-working ambassadors, sold over 100 orders. We then used the funds from this project to donate a wide variety of toys to children in need during the holiday season.

With every goal that we accomplish, our chapter is able to give back to one of the many communities in need of support. Whether it be struggling farmers, girls facing period poverty, or underprivileged kids, the PURE Youth Lawrenceville chapter looks forward to helping many more people in the years to come.

Led By Children, For Children

Testimonials

What I liked about Volunteering with PURE Youth was that I learned how to spend time helping others and learning how to work and lead a team. I learned that PURE worked with many amazing people to help the children in need. From PURE I gained knowledge on how to help children in need, come up with fun fundraising ideas and most important of all I learned how to give back to the community. I also got to know a lot of people through this program.

What I like about volunteering with PURE Youth is that I help other people who are in need. I learned that every single thing we’re doing, for every event or fundraiser we still help these people. What I gained from PURE Youth is that even though we do projects I still have fun but also help those in need.

The thing I like about PURE is the opportunity of sharing what I learnt with other kids here and across the world. I also learnt that we take many things for granted and it is an eye opener for me that many of our friends do not have basic needs. I joined PURE to give back what I have and promote the idea of giving and I was successfully able to do so with the science camps and also by collecting funds for the schools in need.

One thing I like about PURE Youth is that it gives me the chance to have a significant impact on society. After working on projects with PURE, I learned that there are several unexpected barriers between an underprivileged child and education. These obstacles are usually not taken into consideration, as most organizations only help the school itself while PURE focuses on assisting with overlooked issues such as transportation, food, clothing, etc. When I joined PURE, I hoped to be able to improve the conditions of another student, and I successfully did this to others that are less fortunate.
