PURE Youth Jersey City
Jersey City, NJ
PURE Youth, a leadership program, specifically aims to facilitate discussion and awareness of the impact that education has on society through numerous projects and fundraising. PURE Youth also supports projects from all program areas and causes PURE champions which gives the ambassadors an opportunity to understand the depth and breadth of the issue, solution and impact on the lives they are helping change.
The Jersey City PURE Youth Chapter was started in June 2021, during the COVID -19 pandemic, a time when the world learned the power of real heroes, and the importance of helping others. This is what led two high school students to gather a team of six ambassadors, who would donate their time and mind to this cause. This all-girl chapter’s first project was a virtual bingo night, where they raised money for vulnerable people in the Masaka region of Uganda. This money helped young women and girls gain the vocational skills needed to become financially and economically independent. They then started a project where they donated many supplies to a local old age home and an Afghan Refugee Center. The chapter’s ultimate goal is to help as many people as possible, making our world better little by little.
