Our first project was a unique interactive spin on traditional fundraising. Ambassadors, with the help of their parents, curated gift baskets that included traditional Indian food, small paintings, games, and other fun trinkets. These baskets were then personally delivered. This project turned out to be a HUGE success! All the profits were donated to the Community Care Foundation Uganda (CCFU).

PURE Youth Hopedale organized a saree drive and leveraged their social circle contacts to collect new or gently used sarees. These collections were auctioned by another non-profit who donated 50% of the proceeds to PURE Femme projects in the USA. The rest went to the women related initiatives they support. The drive was a big success and over 230 sarees were collected. Saree donors got to clear out their closets, generous buying donors will get their hands on vintages and other special collections.

The proposal was to deliver an Andhra wedding dinner experience to 25 families within the MA area. They designed an Andhra menu that was picked up from a catering service and packaged into containers. The delivery also included authentic wedding accessories like jasmine, marigold, thamboolam packets, banana leaves, a personalized card with a message from the host, and handmade coaster sets. The hosts were delighted with the entire execution and donated funds to PURE as payment for all the event organization efforts.

The PURE Youth Hopedale’s raffle event for period poverty was a huge success! Our team put together a unique and engaging video to communicate with donors about our cause and the event we were hosting. It even included a fun dance from some of our ambassadors! Alongside that, our team created our very own Hopedale Chapter website that highlights our previous events, current events, and some blog posts. We directed donors to our website to buy the raffle tickets to win the gift cards to the amazing savvys_home! On the day of the raffle drawing, our goal was to make the event engaging. We created our own bingo game related to period poverty and PURE and a Kahoot game based around these themes. Overall it was a successful event!

The Hopedale chapter worked with the Confetti organization, which delivers fun and exciting birthday experiences for children in hospitals. Ambassadors individually worked to curate personalized and creative birthday cards that were added to the birthday boxes provided by the organization. The project was a huge success, and we collected a total of 134 birthday cards!

Our PURE Youth Hopedale chapter came up with a unique fundraising concept. They contacted a local event décor rental firm and offered to create an inventory picture database that could eventually help their website. The ambassadors immediately realized they had signed up for more than they bargained for, but they persevered and completed the job. There was a lot of physical labor involved, but it was a great chance for team building, and they appreciated its insanity. The funds raised went to benefit PURE Skill Center in TamilNadu, our 2022 spring project allocation

For this project, our team decided to take on something new, which required plenty of thorough planning. Whether it was figuring out recipes, planning delivery times or finding packaging in our budget, every ambassador pitched in with amazing ideas. This was our first time venturing into handmade artisanal candles, as well as chocolate strawberries. Though we were learning during the process, with strong leadership and initiative from our chapter, we were able to perfect it. Our donors were glad to have celebrated Mother’s Day while also donating to such an important cause. All proceeds from this project support PURE livelihoods and go directly to a skill center in TamilNadu, India.

The PURE Youth Hopedale chapter wanted to do something for the Ukraine crisis and organized a drive to raise donations like cleaning and laundry supplies, paper towels, diapers, and clothes, etc. and donated them to two local organizations—the International Institute of New England and Red Cross Worcester. These donations will be distributed in kind to Ukrainian refugees who will be arriving in the New England area.

PURE Youth had a raffle for a thali at BVIS this year to support kids at Abhyasa schools. We raised $777 from this raffle, and we distributed food on December 10th. We also had a thrift stall as a way to raise more money. This was a great project and everyone had fun raising money for these schools.

As a service project, we created 10 birthday boxes for kids in need who aren’t able to celebrate due to unforeseen circumstances. This was really fun to do and a great use of our remaining budget!
