PURE Youth, a leadership program, specifically aims to facilitate discussion and awareness of the impact that education has on society through numerous projects and fundraising. PURE Youth also supports projects from all program areas and causes PURE champions which gives the ambassadors an opportunity to understand the depth and breadth of the issue, solution and impact on the lives they are helping change.

Frisco's youth team was started in the year 2016 with a 6-year-old child and Books ro Bharath was their first project. She collected books from friends and family and sent to India PURE libraries. The young volunteer baked cookies and sold them at local music and dance recitals. The youth team was formalized in 2019 with a team of four kids. This team has more than 10 kids now who actively do various projects and raise funds.

Volunteers are raising funds and spreading awareness creatively. They are hoping to increase their activities and help more children.

Projects:

Holi and Ugadi Boxes - For this project our chapter made mini boxes for each holiday, the Ugadi one including spices and The holi one including some snacks and colors!
Diwali Boxes - For this project our chapter spent time making tons of sweet treats and sold them online to people!
9/11 Project - For this project our chapter went to our local fire station and gave them pizza and banners to show them our appreciation!
School Drive - For this project our chapter collected our old school supplies and donated them!
Goodie Bags - For this project our chapter made fall themed goodie bags including sugar cookies, candles, stickers, and lollipops!
Sweet Boxes - For this project our chapter made DIY boxes including two homemade cookies and two homemade brownies!

When I first joined PURE Youth, around 2 years ago, the Frisco chapter was pretty small. But quickly a lot of people joined through the help of the original members. Pure has taught me a lot about current issues and i’m very thankful for that. It has taught me that everybody has the ability to help people in need. I like volunteering in PURE because I get to help kids in need all over the world. When I visited a School in India in 2016, I saw that some of the kids didn’t have basic necessities like clean water, proper restrooms, or proper classrooms. PURE has been able to help some of these kids and I feel very good about it and want to help more kids.

PURE is such an impactful organization because the clear goals and tasks we set allow us to be successful in our projects and help underprivileged people and areas all around the world. Being a part of PURE has been a gratifying experience, and the ambitious goals of the organization are an inspiration to everyone who is trying to make the world a better place. Completing projects to raise money for various humanitarian causes has been both fun and rewarding, and seeing how our efforts as just kids have bettered the lives of others is an amazing experience. PURE is also like a family where all of the mentors look out for the ambassadors and make sure they are on the right track.
