PURE Youth East Brunswick
New Jersey
PURE Youth, a leadership program, specifically aims to facilitate discussion and awareness of the impact that education has on society through numerous projects and fundraising. PURE Youth also supports projects from all program areas and causes PURE champions which gives the ambassadors an opportunity to understand the depth and breadth of the issue, solution and impact on the lives they are helping change.
East Brunswick chapter of PURE Youth was started in the year 2019. Locally, the East Brunswick PURE Youth branch has set up stalls at various events and community programs to raise funds. Additionally, our branch has partaken in activities that allow us to work together and spread the word about our goals. Our team created elaborate and interesting fundraisers like the dinner to door, garage sales, and even festival themed baskets. These events allowed our branch to really build a bond with each other while enjoying giving back to the society. Even during the hardest times, this team was able to give back to the community and enjoyed making a difference in others lives. There is a way to contribute regardless of how: taking a phone call and offering some ideas, donating money, attending events, etc. PURE Youth is a place where groups of volunteers unite under a common goal and become a family.
The East Brunswick chapter had officially begun on May fourth, 2019. After watching a TEDX talk, one of the directors wanted to start a group here. East Brunswick is a small, friendly town located in central New Jersey. The East Brunswick chapter is considered to be one of the newer groups and has ten volunteers in total. Despite the tight group of volunteers, they have accomplished many things. They have proven to be quite strong and have grown to be an influential group. Things such as being extremely involved with events in New Jersey and working extremely hard to do their best at fundraisers. The East Brunswick chapter is very involved in their roles at PURE and have continually thought of ways to help the cause. Each volunteer has proven their commitment to PURE through determination and eagerness to help. Not only has PURE’s guidance led the East Brunswick chapter to be very independent, they have taught them how to be appreciative of the things they have in front of them, and how to help others in need. East Brunswick has dedicated themselves to multiple events which helped sponsor PRERANA and the Innerwear project. The involvement with PRERANA included working with chapters like Lawrenceville and Middlesex. Also, meetings, fundraising, skits, and dance practices to help PRERANA grow. East Brunswick has also groomed other chapters to start. Edison chapter and now Monroe chapter has been started due to the influence of East Brunswick. Over the months of experiencing PURE and handling charity responsibilities as teenagers, they have learned the value of education, leadership qualities, hard work, and many other things. This chapter has always shown its support to not only global issues such as pandemics, lack of education, poverty, and underprivileged school children, but also local issues. They continue to help with the many branches PURE helps with and awaits many more. Without PURE and its many role models, the volunteers of East Brunswick would be quite different to how they have grown to be present day.
